The Year of Exploration
Manuel del Cuvillo, whom you might know from last year’s ELEX corduroy campaign, has truly made the most of this past year. His travels took him to diverse places like India, Nepal, Indonesia, Portugal, and Italy. Along the way, he immersed himself in the local people and cultures, finding inspiration in the vibrant cities and remote landscapes that fueled his passion for capturing the world through his camera lens. These experiences shaped his creative perspective, allowing him to continuously refine his photography and videography skills.
Recently, Manuel embarked on an unforgettable sailing journey from the Algarve to Madeira - where this photograph was taken - Accompanied by two close friends, they sailed 550 nautical miles, bonding over their shared love for nature, adventure, and storytelling through their cameras. This trip, marked by stunning ocean views and the peaceful isolation of open water, allowed Manuel to fully connect with nature, documenting the journey through his artistic lens. One of his standout photographs was taken on the island of Porto Santo, where he explored the natural beauty of this Atlantic gem, capturing its breathtaking landscapes.
This sailing trip, however, marked a turning point, as it was Manuel’s final adventure before crossing the Atlantic to settle in Mexico City (CDMX). Now based in CDMX, Manuel is beginning a new chapter, and we’re eager to see how this vibrant city, its people, and the surrounding natural beauty will inspire his future work.
